Most of these people are looking to lose weight. A recent Gallup Poll determined that 56% of Americans say they want to lose weight. That's 6 out of every 10!

One thing you'll hear repeated again and again throughout this site: the FASTEST way to HEALTHY weight loss is EXERCISE, preferably some    type of strength training.

EXERCISE FOR WEIGHT LOSS DOESN'T MEAN SPENDING HOURS IN THE GYM!

Probably the biggest excuse I hear from people when it comes to working out is “I don’t have time.” But your weight loss exercise program doesn’t need to consist of hours on the treadmill or multiple sets and reps in the gym. Losing weight and burning fat can be done at home or anywhere else with a minimum of equipment.

All you need to get started on the road to healthy weight loss is desire! You don’t need any of the fancy equipment that the health stores sell. You don’t need the latest workout fashions. You don’t even really need equipment. There are plenty of weight loss exercises that can be done using only your own body weight.

Push-ups, pull-ups, and no-weight squats are all great weight loss exercises you can perform using your body as the resistance rather than dumbbells or machines. One of the best ways to save time is to simply set up a home gym. Now you don’t have to spend the time driving to the gym, finding a parking spot, waiting for equipment, etc. The weights are there while you’re watching the news or after the kids are in bed.

Your home gym doesn’t need to be $1000s of dollars worth of equipment. Why spend a fortune on a treadmill that ends up being an expensive coat hanger? All you need to begin your healthy weight loss exercise program is a good bench and some dumbbells.

Often in those slick bodybuilding magazines, you’ll hear these gargantuan pro bodybuilders recommending 5 sets of 5 different exercises for one body part! And sometimes with 3 minutes of rest in between! That’s 30 minutes of rest time right there – and you’ve only worked ONE muscle group!

At that rate, it’s no wonder many people feel they don’t have time to for weight loss exercises.

You have to remember, though, that those athletes are taking performance enhancing steroids, which also dramatically reduce recuperation time. A normal person will over train trying to follow these programs – not to mention have to quit their day jobs so they can spend their whole lives in the gym!
